Philodendron – Variegated Trailing Houseplant (12cm Pot)
This Philodendron is a trailing houseplant grown for its heart-shaped leaves, splashed with green and lime-yellow variegation, that cascade beautifully from a shelf or hanging basket.
It is a fast-growing, vining plant that brings a lush, tropical feel indoors, and its long stems can be left to trail or trained up a support as they lengthen.
It arrives as an established plant in a 12cm pot, ready to display on a shelf, in a hanging basket or on a desk. Position it in low to bright indirect light, out of direct sun, and keep it in a warm room, as it will not tolerate temperatures below about 15°C.
Water when the top inch of soil feels dry, roughly every seven to ten days, and feed with a balanced liquid fertiliser during spring and summer. It is an easy, low-maintenance plant that suits a beginner, and new plants can be started easily from stem cuttings rooted in water.
Philodendron is harmful if eaten and can irritate the skin and eyes, and it is also toxic to cats and dogs, so position it carefully if animals share the home.
