Pansies are one of the most popular winter and spring bedding plants, and this deep blue pansy with a bold dark blotch gives cheerful, velvety colour right through the cooler months. You get 18 pansy plants, growing in 2 plastic 9-cell trays with one plant to a cell.

The Pansy 'Delta Pro Deep Blue with Blotch' (Viola x wittrockiana) is a compact, bushy plant bred for outstanding garden performance. Its deep blue petals contrast with a dark central blotch, a timeless combination that works in both formal and informal schemes. Winter flowering pansies of this type are tough outdoors and carry on flowering when the weather lifts after frost.

Plant them in a sunny or partly shaded spot in moist, well-drained, fertile soil. They suit borders, raised beds, window boxes, hanging baskets and patio containers, and they grow happily in pots as long as the drainage is good. Water regularly in dry spells and avoid waterlogging.

To keep them flowering, feed with a balanced liquid fertiliser every 2 to 3 weeks and deadhead spent blooms regularly. As with all living plants, there may be slight natural variation in shade between individual plants.
