Pansy 'Fire Surprise' brings warm, flame-toned colour to the garden from autumn through to late spring, with flowers in deep orange, red and golden-yellow, often marked with a dark central blotch.

This garden pansy (Viola x wittrockiana) is compact, mounding and free-flowering, with bright green, rounded to oval leaves. It copes well with cold, moist conditions and keeps flowering through the cooler months, with its best display in spring. Colour can vary a little between individual plants.

You receive 18 plants, growing in 2 plastic 9-cell bedding trays with one plant to each cell. They suit borders, patio containers, window boxes and hanging baskets, and are good for filling gaps with instant seasonal colour. Plant in moist, well-drained, fertile soil in full sun or partial shade, spacing plants about 15-20cm apart.

Water regularly in dry spells without letting the soil become waterlogged, feed with a balanced liquid fertiliser every 2-3 weeks, and deadhead spent blooms often to keep the flowers coming.
