Viola 'Sorbet Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow' is a hardy bedding viola whose flowers change colour as they age. They open white, turn soft lavender and finish a deeper lilac-blue, so each plant carries all three shades at once. Part of the popular Sorbet series, this Viola cornuta (horned violet) is neat, compact and flowers freely through the cooler months.

Violas are some of the hardiest and most reliable bedding plants, thriving in cool weather when many others struggle. They are a good choice for a window box, a patio container, a hanging basket or a border edge, and they keep flowering through mild winter spells and into spring.

You receive 18 plants growing in 2 plastic 9-cell trays, one plant to a cell, ready to plant out or grow on. Plant them in full sun or partial shade in moist, well-drained soil or good compost. Water regularly, especially in containers, and avoid waterlogging.

Upkeep is simple. Remove spent flowers regularly and feed with a balanced liquid fertiliser every 2 to 3 weeks while growing to keep the flowers coming.
