Viola 'Sorbet Deep Orange' (Horned Violet) – Hardy Orange Bedding Plant (18 Plants in 2 x 9-Cell Trays)
Viola 'Sorbet Deep Orange' (Horned Violet) – Hardy Orange Bedding Plant (18 Plants in 2 x 9-Cell Trays)
Viola 'Sorbet Deep Orange' gives rich, warm orange flowers on compact plants that cope with cold weather, so it works for autumn, winter and spring colour as well as summer borders. This pansy-type viola (Viola cornuta) is neat, low growing and a reliable choice for patio containers, window boxes, hanging baskets and the front of a border.
It forms a low, spreading mound of fresh green, oval to heart-shaped leaves, topped with a steady run of orange flowers. It is hardy and will keep going through mild spells in winter, then flower again as the weather warms. Regular deadheading keeps the flowers coming.
You get 18 plants, growing in 2 plastic 9-cell trays with one plant to a cell. Plant them out in autumn or spring in full sun or partial shade, in the ground or in containers, and water well until they settle in. Once growing they need very little: remove faded flowers and water in dry spells.
