Yellow primroses bring cheerful, warm colour to borders, containers and patio displays from late winter into spring, and they return for another show in autumn. This tray offer gives you 12 Primula vulgaris plants, supplied as 12 plants in 2 x 6-cell trays, one plant to a cell.

Primroses are one of Britain's best loved early flowers. Each plant forms a low, compact rosette of crinkled, mid-green leaves, topped with rich yellow blooms that are a welcome early source of nectar for bees and other pollinators. They pair well with spring bulbs, winter pansies and other seasonal bedding.

They are fully hardy and make a classic cottage garden or woodland-style planting. Plant them in a border edge, a window box or a patio container, in full sun where the soil stays moist or in partial shade. Keep the soil moist but never waterlogged.

Primroses are true perennials, so they will come back year after year if left in the ground. They ask for very little care. Primulas can cause stomach upset and skin irritation, so wash your hands after handling.
