Cyclamen persicum 'Candyfloss Mix' – Mixed Autumn & Winter Bedding (12 Plants in 2 x 6-Cell Trays)
Florist's cyclamen (Cyclamen persicum) in the Candyfloss Mix bring a soft, romantic palette of blush and pale pink blooms to autumn and winter, when most beds and containers are bare.
The flowers rise above dark green, heart-shaped leaves with attractive silver marbling. The plants are compact and mounding, and they flower from autumn through to early spring. They are sold as autumn and winter bedding, and suit window boxes, baskets, patio containers and the front of a sheltered border.
You receive 12 plants, growing in two 6-cell trays with one plant to each cell. Plant them out in a sheltered spot in partial shade, out of cold wind. Keep them on the dry side and water at the edge of the container rather than into the crown. A hard or prolonged frost will kill them, although they will take a light frost in a sheltered spot, so a porch or doorstep position is ideal in the coldest weeks. The tubers should not be eaten, by people or pets.
Care is easy. Pull off spent flowers together with their stalks to keep new buds coming. They make a thoughtful gift and a simple way to add seasonal colour.
