col-m6p-roc-ubex1
Rocket 'Uber' (Eruca vesicaria) – Peppery Salad Leaf (12 Plants in 2 x 6-Cell Trays)

Salad rocket 'Uber' gives you bold, peppery leaves that are ready to pick within weeks of planting. It is a vigorous, upright rocket with deeply lobed dark green leaves and good mildew resistance, and it suits cut-and-come-again picking for salads, pizzas, pasta and sandwiches.

You receive 12 plants, growing in 2 plastic 6-cell trays with one plant to a cell. Rocket is quick and short lived, so it runs to seed in hot, dry weather. Plant it in full sun or light shade, and give it a cooler, partly shaded spot in midsummer. Sow or plant a fresh batch every few weeks for a steady supply.

Grow it in well-drained, moderately fertile soil in a raised bed, a border or a container on the patio, balcony or doorstep. Keep the soil evenly moist and avoid waterlogging. Pick the outer leaves often to encourage fresh growth, and the white flowers are edible if you let some plants bloom. It is grown as a spring to autumn crop and should not be left out unprotected over a British winter.

Cultural Information

Common Name: Salad Rocket, Arugula

Botanical Name: Eruca vesicaria subsp. sativa

Growth Habit: Upright, bushy, leafy salad plant

Perfect For: Raised beds, containers, patios, window boxes and kitchen gardens

Foliage: Deep green, deeply lobed, peppery leaves

Planting Position: Full sun to partial shade

Soil Type: Well-drained, moderately fertile soil

Hardiness: Grown as a spring to autumn annual crop; protect late sowings under cover over winter

Harvest Season: April to October

Type: Salad leaf crop

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0957/2479/8218/files/3_b53bc3f9-ac5e-48a0-a733-b20c51547a9f.png?v=1793895401
